The American Citizens Services Unit (ACS) at U.S. Embassy Bangkok is open for appointments from Monday to Thursday. The embassy does not accept walk-ins for non-emergency services and is closed to the public on U.S. and Thailand public holidays.

  • Extra pages are not available. U.S. Citizens must renew their passport if it does not have sufficient space for visa stamps.  
  • To renew your passport, you must reside in and have a mailing address in Thailand. 
  • Passport processing time can take up to 4-6 weeks and expedited service is not available when applying overseas.  
  • If you have immediate travel plans in less than two weeks, you may present a confirmed itinerary and request a temporary emergency passport, 5 blank pages with limited validity to only cover your travel plan, on your appointment.  However, the passport may not be recognized by all countries, you may find Country’s entry, exit and visa requirements here International Travel (state.gov).
  • Many countries have passport validity requirements. Before travelling, we recommend you visit the Department of State website to ensure that your passport is valid for travel to all countries you will visit. 

Passport services are not available on weekends or on Thailand or U.S. holidays.
