Starting on August 1, 2024, dogs entering or returning to the United States must meet new, specific requirements depending on where they have been in the 6 months before entering the U.S. and where they received their rabies vaccines (if required). For the latest guidance on the importation of pets, please refer to Bringing a Dog into the U.S. | Importation | CDC.
CDC issues regulations to control the entry of dogs into the United States from other countries. These rules apply to all dogs, including puppies, service animals, and dogs that left the United States and are returning. They also apply whether you are a U.S. citizen, legal U.S. resident, or foreign national. For latest guidance, please see www.cdc.gov/importation/bringing-an-animal-into-the-united-states/dogs.html
