The International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) section at the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok plays a critical role in advancing the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs’ mission to protect Americans by combating crime, illegal drugs, and instability abroad. INL employs a diverse set of tools, including foreign assistance, bilateral diplomacy, multilateral engagement, and mechanisms such as reporting, sanctions, and rewards, to address these challenges.

At Mission Bangkok, INL collaborates closely with the Royal Thai Government, other U.S. government agencies, regional governments, and non-governmental organizations to strengthen criminal justice systems and foster international cooperation on drug control and cross-border law enforcement. By helping partner governments assess, build, reform, and sustain legitimate and effective criminal justice institutions, INL ensures a comprehensive approach to countering transnational threats while promoting stability and security in the region.
