The Political Section is responsible for coordinating political and security aspects of U.S.-Thai bilateral relations to support the safety and security of U.S. citizens, defend U.S. sovereignty, and promote U.S. economic prosperity. The section’s staff monitors Thai foreign policy and domestic political developments and serves as the Embassy’s primary contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Legislative Assembly, political parties, and national and local governments.
