Defense Attaché Office
The United States Defense Attaché Office (DAO) Bangkok represents the Department of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the U.S. Military Services, and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command in the Kingdom of Thailand. DAO Bangkok promotes defense diplomacy, strengthens the U.S.–Thai security partnership, and supports the U.S. Ambassador in advancing national security objectives.
The DAO fosters military-to-military engagement, coordinates bilateral and multinational exercises such as Cobra Gold, facilitates security assistance and foreign military sales, and ensures visiting U.S. forces receive essential support. Through these efforts, DAO Bangkok contributes to regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
