Thailand National Day

Department of State

STATEMENT BY SECRETARY ANTONY J. BLINKEN
Thailand National Day
December 5, 2024

On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the Kingdom of Thailand as it celebrates Thai National Day.
The United States and Thailand’s enduring alliance is built on a foundation of diplomatic relations that stretches more than 190 years.  This year, we convened the second U.S.-Thailand Strategic and Defense Dialogue to implement the U.S.-Thai Communiqué on Strategic Alliance and Partnership.  We also welcomed Thailand’s new government, and deepened our bilateral relationship to accelerate economic growth, address climate change, advance global health, strengthen our security cooperation, build inclusive democracies, and promote people-to-people ties.  Our partnership fosters peace and prosperity in both of our countries, and together, we will face the challenges in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
Congratulations to all the people of Thailand on this important occasion.  We are honored to have you as a friend, partner, and ally.  I wish you a peaceful and prosperous year ahead.

Thailand National Day

On behalf of the government of the United States of America, I offer my warm wishes to the people of Thailand as you celebrate your National Day on December 5.

For more than 200 years, the United States and Thailand have strengthened the friendship and spirit of partnership between our nations.  The U.S.-Thai alliance supports a free and open Indo-Pacific region.  Our longstanding business ties, highlighted in the very successful Indo-Pacific Business Forum in Bangkok, help the people of the United States and Thailand to prosper and innovate.  Thailand showcased its important role in the region at this year’s Association of Southeast Asian Nations Chair, and we congratulate you on a successful chairmanship.  We also congratulate the Thai people on democratic progress through this year’s elections and hope this progress will continue.  As we continue to strengthen our cultural ties, business relationships, and security cooperation, the United States looks forward to new opportunities for partnership with Thailand.

The United States congratulates you on Thailand’s National Day and conveys our best wishes for peace and prosperity to the people of Thailand.

Secretary of State: Thailand National Day

On behalf of the Government of the United States of America, I offer my sincerest and warmest wishes to the Kingdom of Thailand on your National Day. This year marked the 200-year anniversary of the historic U.S.-Thai friendship that has united our two nations through war and peace, hardship and prosperity. Under the leadership of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, Thailand continues to prosper, and both our nations benefit from our friendship and alliance as seen in the successful, Thai-led rescue of the Wild Boar soccer team.

We look forward to a successful 2019 in which Thailand will hold national elections and play a leading regional role as Chair of ASEAN. I would like to convey our warmest regards to all the Thai people, and best wishes for a peaceful and prosperous year to come.
